Week 10

Our third week in Tokyo was more studious than any other week so far this semester - our partners from Yonsei University in Seoul, with whom we participated in a group research project earlier in the semester, came to stay in Tokyo for the week. We started a new research project together with the same partners, based on observable urban conditions of Shibuya; our group narrowed in on the stereotomic consequences of urban development negotiations in the area. Shibuya is a uniquely interconnected network of public and private developments, so our group looked into the specifics of how these connections actually manifest in the built environment. After presenting these projects towards the end of the week, my two partners and I went to an escape/horror room, a concept that I would never have imagined, but that ended up being a blast!
